“Maximize Your Travel Rewards with Skywards Miles”

How to Earn Skywards Miles ?

1. Flights

  • You earn Miles on all flights with Emirates, flydubai, and participating airline partners.
  • The amount of Miles depends on:
    • the route (distance)
    • the fare type (how flexible or premium your ticket is)
    • the class of travel (Economy, Business, First etc.)

2. Tier Bonuses

Higher status in Skywards means more Miles per trip:

Tier

Bonus Miles

Silver

+30 % bonus Miles

Gold

+75 % bonus Miles

Platinum

+100 % bonus Miles

These are added on top of the base Miles earned.

3. Tier Miles

  • Tier Miles are separate from reward or “Skywards” Miles but are important for maintaining or upgrading your membership status.
  • You earn Tier Miles via flights, depending again on route, class, and fare.
  • Some co-branded credit cards (in select countries, such as the USA) also give Tier Miles.

  4. Other Ways to Earn

  • Partner Activity – Spending or travelling with non-airline partners:
    • Hotels
    • Car rentals
    • Retail & Lifestyle partners
    • Banking / credit card partners
  • Buying Miles – You can directly purchase Skywards Miles.
  • Multiply Miles — Offers that let you boost or multiply your existing or upcoming Miles (sometimes up to 4×) under promotional conditions.
  • My Family Account – Pool Miles with family members so collective earning is faster.

Important Details

  • Crediting of Miles:
Miles are posted after you physically fly each leg of your trip (for multi-leg or return journeys).
  • All fare types earn Miles:
Even the less expensive / more restrictive tickets earn Skywards and Tier Miles — though the number of Miles will vary depending on fare type and route.
  • Co-branded cards:
If you have an Emirates-co-branded credit card with certain banks, your everyday spending can also earn Skywards Miles automatically.
  • Choosing the earning account early:
For flights and other qualifying services, you must specify which Skywards account you want Miles credited to at reservation or check-in/payment time. You can’t change the membership number after you’ve started the journey or after making the payment.

Tips to Maximise Earnings

  1. Fly premium when possible — Business/First class tickets often multiply your base Miles.
  2. Aim for higher tiers — Silver, Gold, Platinum status adds substantial bonus Miles.
  3. Use co-branded credit cards for everyday spending.
  4. Take advantage of promotional offers when they arrive (e.g., Multiply Miles or special partner deals).
  5. Pool Miles with family if available in your country to reach rewards sooner.

Review

The Emirates Skywards Earn Miles program is highly rewarding for frequent travelers, especially those who often fly long-haul routes or book premium classes. Even budget-friendly fares earn Miles, making it accessible to all flyers. With the addition of partner earning, family pooling, and promotions like Multiply Miles, the program provides excellent value. Yes, the offer is profitable for customers, especially for those who maximize both travel and lifestyle earning channels.
