Is this offer profitable for the customer ?
- Yes,
it can be — under certain conditions. If you are someone who maintains
around $2,500 in the account (thus waiving the monthly fee), uses the card
regularly for groceries, gas, Wyndham hotel stays, etc., and values the
perks that come with Wyndham Gold status, you’ll earn meaningful benefits.
- However,
there are trade-offs. The point earnings are modest (especially 1
point per $2 on non-hotel/grocery/gas purchases). If you don’t keep the
required balance, the monthly fee eats into rewards. Also, compared to
Wyndham’s credit card options, the credit cards offer higher earning rates
and more benefits in many cases (but come with credit checks, potential
interest, etc.). If you can handle a credit card responsibly and want more
rewards, one of Wyndham’s credit cards might still deliver more value.
Review
So, for debit-only users or those trying to avoid credit, this is a solid offer. For heavy spenders or those who want maximum rewards, a credit card might still deliver more value.
